ENHANCEMENT (UPGRADING YOUR GEAR)
Follow the upgrade, reroll, and transfer systems with their resource cautions close at hand.
CHAPTER 05 · KANON’S AION 2 BIBLE
On this page 9 sections
A - GROWTH
This is your general Gear enhancing system consistent with just about every Korean MMO where you simply spend Kinah and Enhance Stones or Amplify Stones to + up your gear.
Enhance Stones are obtained through a lot of different sources and content. These are used until +15 or +20
Amplify Stones are obtained by Substance Morphing Amplify Fragments with Enhance Stones.
Yellow/Unique Gear can go to +15 then has 5 Amp levels. Orange/Heroic Gear can go to +20 then has 5 amp levels. The % for success “soft resets” back to 60% from +15 to +16.
Potential Enhance
Update: Potential is a PVP exclusive stat in Global, you can disregard this for PVE. The explanation below is how it works on the Asia server.
Potential Enhance is a system that adds PVE Damage Boost/Tolerance on gear. Crafted gear automatically gets max Potential Stats and nearly double the value compared to Dungeon gear only on the Asian servers, this is not the case on the Global servers. It is not confirmed whether or not Crafted Potential Stats are higher than Dungeon Gear on Global yet. This is explained in Further Detail here
In order to Potential Enhance your gear, you’ll need Potential Enhancement Material. This is obtained by Substance Morphing gear into Potential Stones. Potential Stones have Tiers and the Item Level of the gear you Substance Morph will determine the Tier. Currently Potential Stones go from 1* to 5* then to 1* “prestiged”
Aside from making this overly complicated, the system is pretty simple - you can convert extra gear into Potential Stones of the equal tier and use it to increase your Damage Boost/Tolerance on an exclusive “Potential” line
B - MANASTONE/SOULSTONE LINES
Manastones/Soulstones are items that you’ll use on your gear for RNG stats. Manastones are for Weapons and Armor, Soulstones are for Accessories. Every time you consume a single stone, you’ll roll random lines on all your Manastone/Soulstone sockets, in the case of the image below, 5 lines. You’ll be wanting to roll Superiors on end-game gear. Do not waste too many of these, if at all, on gear you’ll replace soon.
Try to roll at least 1 yellow Damage Boost stat from below. There is a big jump from blue (30) to yellow Boost (100). 100 Boost = 1% of that stat on your stat sheet, IE: Gold Weapon Damage Boost +100 = 1% Weapon Damage Boost.
Having 2 yellow/unique Attack lines is similar to 1 yellow/unique Damage Boost line
A single yellow/unique Attack (10) line is a decent placeholder roll if you are low on Stones.
Order from best to worst:
Front/Back Damage Boost > Weapon Damage Boost ≈ Critical Damage Boost > Damage Boost > Attack
Manastones/Soulstones do not carry over when you transfer/upgrade gear so don’t go all-in on gear that’s replaced. Superior Mana/Soulstones get very expensive.
C - THEOSTONES
Theostones are items you socket into your weapons. You can socket 1 per item and the same Theostones do not stack. Theostones have a % chance to proc on hit with effects ranging from CC to Damage. General rule of thumb, the higher the Combat Speed netting you more hits, the more value lower % Theostones become. Keep in mind ping impacts this.
Theostones make up for very little overall DPS, even with yellow (highest grade) Theostones. Until this get’s buffed, it’s insignificant in PVE…some people actually just take the coolest looking Theostone considering Theostones give a glow effect on your weapon. The glow below is from the Earth Theostone.
D - SOUL BINDING
Soul Binding is a very simple enhancing system that is unnecessarily confusing at first because of the names. There are 3 different types of Soul Binding - Bind, Sync, and Reset. Soul Binding is relative to your Stat Lines.
Bind
“Bind” increases the blue Soul Binding Rate bar that increases the effectiveness of each Stat Line indicated by the yellow bar. The Blue Soul Binding Rate bar will be 100% when all the yellow lines are 100%. You’ll use Soul Codex books to enhance these. The cost for the books raise each time you enhance. An upgrade is guaranteed but the amount is RNG.
After reaching 100% Soul Binding Rate, you’ll be able to add an additional Stat Line by using 2 Philosopher’s Stones (obtained mainly from Conquest Dungeons).
Sync & Reset
Sync is how you reroll your Stat Lines. Reset is shuffling all of your Stat Lines at once. Full breakdown provided in Chapter 3 - Guide: Ideal Stat Lines.
E - Transfer
Transfer allows you to transfer your gear to another, hopefully upgraded, piece of gear (notice the extra line from the Philosopher’s says it cannot transfer)
Transferring cost “Transfer Stones.” These are obtained by Substance Morphing Transfer Stone Fragments. Other than select shops (such as Season Shop), Transfer Stone Fragments can only be obtained by Substance Morphing Orange/Heroic grade gear. 1 Heroic Gear = 5 Fragments
10 fragments (2 Heroics) = 1 Transfer Stone Accessory
15 fragments (3 Heroics) = 1 Transfer Stone Armor
20 fragments (4 Heroics) = 1 Transfer Stone Weapon
When Transfering Yellow/Unique gear to Orange/Heroic, 5 additional yellow Transfer Stones are required. When transferring an item of the same grade (Yellow to yellow, orange to orange), 1 Transfer Stone of the same grade is required.
Yellow/Unique Transfer Stones are obtained the same way as Orange/Heroics but be mindful of the Yellow/Unique gear you turn into Transfer Fragments. The x1 - x5 blue number represents how many Fragments you get from that piece. The higher the Item Level, the more Fragments you get.
